The Magic
Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:06AM I'm home from Create Magic, my heart filled right up from the nearly constant laughter that filled the lodge throughout the whole weekend. When we weren't laughing we were crying, listening, creating or being brave...or catching enough sleep to be present with all of those things again the next day.
As with all retreat experiences, I'll need to take some time to let in all settle in and notice the ways in which I am no longer the same as before I went there. It always happens. When we bravely decide to say YES to experiences like these, it changes you.
It was my first experience teaching in person too...which was really really incredible. I know I love teaching as I've been doing it for nearly a year now but I worried if I would be able to do it in person. After this past year I know what I want to teach, why I want to teach it and what I have to offer...but its the getting the words out part I worried about. Would my mind go blank and I would forget everything I wanted to share? Would I not be able to explain it? Would they resonate with it? Would they just think my activities are silly and want something more technical?
Of course, that wasn't what happened.
I loved teaching. I loved seeing people out seeking magic with their cameras.
I especially loved witnessing people break through their fear through playfulness (which for those of you who've taken my YAYOM or Wading In classes know is at the core of how I teach). Hearing participants say they are no longer scared to take photos or have found a new happy place with photography was the best thing I could have wished to hear and I'm so grateful to all of the participants for coming along on the adventure!
Oh...and I have something else exciting to share...it will be a year tomorrow that I first announced that I was teaching a lil' e-course called You are Your Own Muse! I'm going to have a special offering here on the blog to celebrate so be sure to check here to see whats up!

Vivienne! Thinking of you just makes my heart jump and twirl! SO proud to call you my Canadian sister! Thank-you for giving me the gift of befriending myself behind the camera and in front of the lens. This was a game changer for me and I am SO grateful to you! I just signed up for "you are your own muse x deux". xoxo
