Day 2 of 14 Days of Self-Love: Write yourself a Love Letter

lovews

The art of letter writing has faded out in this technological age but hopefully the art of writing a love letter is still alive and well! There is something so incredible about someone sitting down to write out a message of love and receiving that note (and vice versa).  Though in this technological time there are also some truly wonderful ways to send love notes.

So why not turn that idea towards ourselves?

On this second day of exploring our relationship to self I thought I'd share a collection of ideas around writing ourselves love letters.  Whether you have 2 minutes to offer to this task or 20 minutes, I wanted to offer ideas that we can dive into or just quickly take part in!

The World's Smallest Postal Service~

I've been smitten with the World's Smallest Postal Service for a while now and have sent quite a few of their letters to friends.  They are truly tiny and arrive with a magnifying glass to help you read these miniscule letters.  Why not send one to yourself!  Along with the little letters, you can also send yourself a valentines package or a valentines card!

Notes from the Universe~

I've been getting these Notes from the Universe for years now and often they truly make my day.  Each weekday morning (you can customize how often) I get a little note from 'the Universe' with a beautiful message.  You can also customize it to be reminded of certain goals you have.  Though I don't actually write these words to myself it truly feels like a gift each day in my inbox.  If you'd like to get regular love notes to yourself (that is exactly what they feel like) I highly recommend taking part in this!

Future Me~

This is an incredible idea.   Future Me allows you to write an email to yourself and it will be sent to you on the future day you specify.  How incredible is that?  You could share where you are at now and what you hope for the future.  You could even just send yourself love.  How beautiful is that!

Notes in Your Pocket~

Quickly.  Grab a piece of paper.  Cut it into four.  Write a quick note to yourself on each.  Maybe a thank you note, a message of love, a compliment, a reminder of your word for the year.  Anything that comes to mind quickly.  Tuck them into different coat or pant pockets.  Perhaps some that you wear often and others that you don't in hopes of tucking them away to find them on a day you really need the message!

Letters to Your Younger Self ~

The idea of writing a letter to your younger self is a wonderful one.  I've been so moved by reading people's blog posts to their young self.  I even wrote one myself way back.  You can pick any age that you'd like to write to and share what you've learned or just tell your younger self that you love them.

Note in a Locket~

I'm obsessed with a locket I have by The Little Room Etsy Shop that reads 'All you Need is Love'.  When I wear it I feel like I'm carrying a little love note to myself in the locket.  All sorts of her lockets have hopeful messages that you might find feels like a Love Note to yourself!

I also love the idea of the necklaces shaped like envelopes that you could slip a note into!

So whether it is a quick message on a post it note tucked into your pocket or a letter to your future or younger self, I invite you to join me in these coming days before Valentines Day in sending ourselves a little love note!

Good ideas! I wrote "I Love You" on the bathroom mirror the other day. My kids think it's for them, but it's for me too. :) (Did you get my email? Not bugging...I just don't always trust those email systems.) See you tomorrow!
